Children should be outside during the summer. The long, warm days are perfect for outdoor exploration along with fun and games with friends. Wild About Nature provides a safe, nurturing environment for your child to explore, grow, and make the most out of their summer break. Our groups are kept small so that children have meaningful interactions with fellow campers and counselors. All of our staff go through a rigorous week of training and have prior experience working with children.A typical camp day will be spent exploring the pond, forests, and streams that makeup Camp Denison. Morning sessions will focus on a specific aspect of the week’s theme and will involve hands-on investigations and activities. Afternoons are a little more relaxed. Campers can choose from a range of games and activities that might include building a bird feeder, playing Capture the Flag, erecting debris shelters, or fishing. Our older groups will be able to swim in Boxford State Forest during the afternoons while our younger campers splash in the sandy shallows of Baldpate Pond. We will finish the day with a closing circle around a campfire and share what we learned, saw, or made us laugh during the day.
Our campers are split into groups by age: Explorers (6-8 years old), Pioneers (9-11 years old), and Navigators (12-14). Each group embarks on their separate journey to begin each day, but everyone returns at lunch. Afternoon activities are open to campers from all groups, with our staff making sure all interactions are age appropriate and that all children are having fun. In the past, we have found that the older campers take on an important mentoring role for our younger campers and get them excited about the camp adventures they’ll take when they get older.

Business Review
Hey Andrew - just wanted to say thanks. Lucas really enjoyed the mountain bike camp! He learned some new skills, had some great experiences, and gained a tremendous amount of confidence riding his bike. Such a great format. Thanks for being awesome! I have worked with Andrew, as a naturalist for years. Our fourth grade curriculum included an Open Spaces program in conjunction with the Town of Groveland. We met four times in both the spring and fall. Andrew would meet us at one of our town sites which included a forest, pond/river areas and one site that offered varied environments. He would be prepared to work with our learners in regards to the plants and animals that would be supported by each habitat. He was so knowledgeable and engaging. He learned the names of each child even though there might be weeks between seeing them. His "classroom" management was remarkable! I am sure he would be the same virtually. Andrew clearly has a passion for his work. He also clearly likes working and teaching children. I wholeheartedly recommend Andrew be listed as one of your preferred programs. My children were asked to write their favorite thing about fourth grade. Each of them said the Opens Spaces Program!
