Going to the Dogs: Dog-Friendly Events & Parks on the North Shore

Don't leave Fido out of the family fun this summer!

August 10, 2024

The North Shore is going to the dogs! We love our four-legged family members, and it's always fun to take them to new places. Here are some upcoming North Shore events, along with patios and dog parks where well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Should you take your dog?

Before taking your dog out and about on the North Shore, consider whether your dog (and you!) will have a good experience. Typically, well-behaved, socialized dogs who are comfortable around people and other dogs are ideal for these settings. Ensuring your dog is friendly, leash-trained, and non-disruptive will help everyone enjoy their time. Always check specific venue policies and consider your dog's temperament to ensure a pleasant outing for all.

Dog Parks on the North Shore

Danvers Dog Park

 Endicott Park,

57 Forest Street

Danvers, MA

(across from St. Richard's Church)

HOURS: 9:00AM – DUSK

What we love about {Danvers Dog Park}: Add a few sentences about amenities, what your family loves about this dog park.

Beverly Dog Park- Paddles Park

46 L P Henderson Rd,

 Beverly, MA 01915

What we love about {Beverly Dog Park- Paddles Park}:

Hidden gem of a dog park. Very quiet, wooded, extra-large area for off leash fun. "Small" dog area is plenty big as well. Natural dirt ground - no stone dust, pebbles, or wood chips. No neighbors to bother if your dog is talkative. NOTE that it's carry in/carry out - zero trash receptacles - so be prepared to take your dog's waste and your garbage out with you.

Peabody Dog Park

34 Perkins Street

Peabody, MA 01960

What we love about {Peabody Dog Park}: It's a small fenced in space covered mostly in small stones so it does not get muddy. The park is generally very clean and quiet even though it is on a main street. It is lit up at night which is a big plus in the winter. Bring your own water.

Gloucester Dog Park

24 Hough Ave

Gloucester, MA 01930

Open 9AM-8PM

What we love about {Gloucester Dog Park}: Gloucester Dog park has a huge space for dogs to run! Dogs can socialize in four different yards by size and demeanor. The dogs and parents there are always super friendly.

Salem Play Area for Canine Exercise (SPACE)

 North St,

Salem, MA 01970

What we love about {Central Park Dog Park}:

Great place to bring your dog with trees for shade and water during the summer. There are a great group of owners who are regulars. It does require that you purchase a pooch pass  from Salem City Hall, and children under 10 are not allowed.
