Zoo New England in 2023

- Black Bear Birthday, Stone Zoo, January 14th: Black bears Smoky and Bubba are turning 17 this January and guests are invited to join in on the festivities at Stone Zoo! The bear exhibit will be decorated for the occasion and the brothers will enjoy birthday treats, specially made by their care team. Guests can meet with our education team to learn more about the bears and pick up a fun craft to take home! The Black Bear Birthday event is included with general admission tickets.
- Free Admission on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Zoo New England, February 16th: In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo will offer free admission on Monday, January 16, 2023. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a memorable day with family and friends while learning about fascinating wildlife from all over the world. Guests are also invited to write messages of hope and peace on murals located within the Tropical Forest Pavilion at Franklin Park Zoo and within the Animal Discovery Center at Stone Zoo.
- Celebrate Little Joe’s 30th Birthday, Franklin Park Zoo, February 19th: Franklin Park Zoo is thrilled to be celebrating Little Joe’s 30th birthday! The gorilla habitat inside the Tropical Forest will be festively decorated with enrichment items, and the gorillas will enjoy a special birthday cake handmade by their care team. Guests will have the opportunity to sign a giant birthday card for Little Joe and enjoy a complimentary cupcake from White’s Bakery, available first come, first served. This event is included with general Zoo admission.
- February School Vacation at Franklin Park Zoo, Franklin Park Zoo, February 20th – 24th: Franklin Park Zoo is your ticket to a wild time during February school vacation week! Winter school break is the perfect time to connect with incredible wildlife and spend a memorable day with family and friends exploring all the Zoo has to offer. All activities are taking place inside the balmy Tropical Forest, where guests will learn about the amazing adaptations of animals during the cold winter months. - February School Vacation at Stone Zoo, Stone Zoo, February 20th – 24th and February 27th – March 3rd: Go WILD during February school vacation break and visit Stone Zoo! Winter school break is the perfect time to connect with incredible wildlife and spend a memorable day with family and friends exploring all the Zoo has to offer. There will be fun winter-themed activities, crafts, a scavenger hunt and much more to discover. All events are included with general admission and take place outside. Throughout the week, there will also be scheduled keeper chats, which are a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and learn from the animal care team.
